Creation Photography Competition-Winners

The response and quality of entries for our first photography competition have been amazing! Our theme was creation, and it was brilliant to see how everyone interpretated this from our wildlife, wildflowers, moments of Creation wonder or as our world emerges from winter. Some of our younger entrants also considered the impact of pollution, which fits brilliantly with our eco-congregation work.

Thank you and well done to all our entrants. The judges really did have a tough time to score and pick winners across our two categories.  My thanks to Karen Simpson (local professional photographer), Peter Stewart (Kilmarnock Photography Club) and Kirsty Boodhna (Acting PT Art, design & Creative Industries, Kilmarnock Academy).

12 winning images have been selected for inclusion in our fundraising 2027 calendar, with three winners from each category awarded as prize winners. Well done to:

Overall winner: Jim Muir - £200 Amazon voucher, sponsored by HALO

Runners Up: Ann Redpath – Iris photography shoot with Karen Simpson Photography and

Natassia Wallce - £30 in store voucher and photo commission, Brownings the Bakers.

School category:

Overall winner: Ruby Dorricot – new camera, sponsored by Scotmid COOP

Runners Up: Rebecca Stamp – photo commission, Brownings the Bakers and

Louis McCulloch - Amazon voucher, sponsored by Scotmid COOP.

The 12 images will be printed on a fundraising calendar as part of the renovation fund and available in the autumn. Costs are still to be established, so more info to follow.

Thanks again to all our entrants, our prize sponsors, judges and winners for making this such a success.

Kind regards
